Elionor Martínez

Born in Barcelona in 1996, Elionor Martinez studied at the Conservatori del Liceu with soprano Dolors Aldea with a Fundació Ferrer-Salat scholarship. She earned a Master’s degree in Arts in Music Performance (summa cum laude) from the Hochschule für Musik of Basel with Marcel Boone, under the patronage of the Fundació Salvat, alongside winning the top final recital award for the academic year 2021/22.

Her repertoire includes Handel's Messiah, Bach's Passions and Magnificat, Mozart's Requiem and Great Mass in C minor, Beethoven's Christus am Ölberge, and Requiems by Fauré and Brahms. In the operatic scene, the roles she has sung include Clorinda in Rossini's La Cenerentola and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Così fan tutte. In Lied, Elionor Martinez and Olivia Zaugg since 2021 offer recitals in Switzerland and in Spain under the Franz Schubert Association's Lied the Future program. Their repertoire includes Schubert, Strauss, Wolf, Clara Schumann, Amy Beach, Toldrà and Mompou, among others.

She regularly sings under the baton of Jordi Savall, and she has also worked alongside conductors like Ton Koopman, Andrés Gabetta, Hermes Helfricht, and Salvador Brotons. She has performed in venues like the Elbphilharmonie, the Wigmore Hall, the Philharmonie de Paris and the Palau de la Música Catalana, and in festivals like Bachfest Leipzig, the Salzburg Festival and the Festival Monteverdi in Cremona. In 2025 she opened Vilabertran’s Schubertíada and she made her first recording with Mozart's Great Mass in C minor.

She has been awarded in several competitions, highlights including the Salvat Bach Scholarship (2016) and her participation in the 63rd edition of the Tenor Viñas Contest (2026), where she received 10 awards, including the Official Oratorio-Lied Prize, the 6th Official Prize, the Plácido Domingo Extraordinary Prize for Best Spanish Singer, and the Special Prize for Best Mozart Performer.

She has been selected by the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) as a Rising Star for the 2026/27 season and will perform several recitals in Europe's most prestigious concert halls. It is also during this season that Elionor Martínez serves as artist-in-residence at L'Auditori de Barcelona, where she will perform on multiple occasions.
